How It Arrives
Delivery Methods
01
Tilt-Bed Truck
Our most common delivery method. The bed tilts to ground level and the container slides off into place, no crane required.
Places container directly on level ground
20ft and 40ft containers
Needs ~100ft of straight clearance to tilt
Most cost-effective option
Best for
Standard placements with truck access
02
Flatbed + Crane
Used when site access is tight, the container needs to clear a fence or building, or when stacking units. Crane service arranged via partner riggers.
Delivers to constrained or elevated sites
Required for stacked container placements
Customer arranges crane or we coordinate
Higher cost, longer lead time
Best for
Tight access, stacking, rooftop placements
03
Roll-Off Chassis
Container is delivered on a wheeled chassis and rolled off using winches. Slower but works in spaces where tilt-beds cannot operate.
Smaller turning radius than tilt-bed
Suitable for residential driveways
Container placed at ground level
Limited to 20ft units in most cases
Best for
Residential or constrained urban sites
Before We Arrive
Site Preparation
A smooth delivery starts with the right ground. Use this checklist to make sure your site is ready — most issues we see on delivery day come from a single missed item below.
Compacted gravel, asphalt, or concrete is ideal. Soft soil, mud, or grass can cause settling and door alignment issues over time.
Clear Access Path
Minimum 14 ft wide, 13.5 ft tall, with no low branches, power lines, or overhangs along the route from the road to placement.
Turning Radius
Tilt-bed trucks need ~100 ft of straight pull-through to off-load. If your site is tight, request a roll-off or crane delivery up front.
Door-Side Orientation
Decide which end the doors should face before delivery. Repositioning a placed container costs more than getting it right the first time.
Permits & Zoning
Confirm any local permits, HOA rules, or commercial zoning requirements ahead of delivery. Permitting is the customer's responsibility.
On-Site Representative
You or an authorized representative must be present at delivery to inspect the container and sign the receipt. Plan for ~30–60 minutes.
The Day Of
What to Expect on Delivery Day
1
Driver calls ahead
24–48 hours before delivery, our driver confirms the window. They will call again 30–60 minutes before arrival on the day.
2
Site walk-through
On arrival, the driver inspects the placement spot and access path. If anything blocks safe placement, they'll call us to coordinate options before unloading.
3
Container placement
Tilt-bed: ~15–30 minutes. Crane: 45–90 minutes. The driver positions the container exactly per your direction within the constraints of the equipment.
4
Inspection & sign-off
Walk around the unit with the driver. Note any visible damage on the delivery receipt before signing, claims after sign-off without notation cannot be processed.
What Drives the Cost
Delivery Pricing
Standard delivery within the 48 contiguous United States is free — no matter the distance from our stocking yards or the size of the container. A few situations fall outside free shipping and are quoted separately:
Standard Delivery — Free
Tilt-bed delivery to a single, accessible, level location within the 48 contiguous states. Distance from the yard and container size do not change this — it is free.
Site Accessibility
Crane, roll-off, or other specialized rigging for tight or constrained sites adds equipment and labor cost on top of free standard delivery.
Scheduling
Standard scheduling is included free. Expedited (next-day) and weekend deliveries are available with a surcharge based on driver availability.
Cross-Border / Export
Canada, international, and territory deliveries (Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico) fall outside free US shipping. Brokerage, customs, and ocean or rail freight are quoted separately, line by line.
Policy
Delivery Terms & Conditions
Scheduling & Lead Times
Delivery is scheduled after payment is received and the container is prepared. We provide a 24–48 hour delivery window confirmation, and our driver will call ahead before arrival. Standard lead time is 3–10 business days within the US; international shipments vary by destination.
Customer Responsibility
The customer is responsible for confirming site access, ensuring legal placement of the container (zoning, permits, HOA approval), and having a representative on-site to sign the delivery receipt. Failure to receive at the scheduled time may incur a re-delivery fee.
Off-Loading & Placement
Free delivery includes placement on level ground at a single location accessible by our truck. Crane service, multi-spot moves, and special equipment can be arranged for an additional fee, request these at quote time so we can dispatch the right vehicle.
Inspection on Delivery
Inspect the container before signing the delivery receipt. Note any damage or discrepancy on the receipt at the time of delivery. See our Return & Inspection Policy for the full claims process and 48-hour notification window.
Cancellations & Rescheduling
Reschedules are free with at least 48 hours' notice. Cancellations after dispatch incur the outbound transportation cost. Custom-modified container deposits are non-refundable once fabrication has commenced.
Insurance & Risk Transfer
Risk of loss transfers to the customer at the moment the container is placed on-site and the receipt is signed. We carry full transit insurance up to that point. We strongly recommend customers maintain property insurance covering the container post-delivery.
Frequently Asked
Delivery FAQ
How much does delivery cost?
Standard delivery within the 48 contiguous United States is free, regardless of distance from our stocking yards or container size. Crane service, international shipments, Alaska/Hawaii/territories, and expedited scheduling fall outside free US shipping and are quoted separately.
How long does delivery take after I pay?
In-stock units typically dispatch within 1–3 business days of payment, with delivery 3–10 business days from dispatch within the US. International shipments vary by destination, typically 3–6 weeks by ocean freight. Custom modifications add 2–6 weeks for fabrication before dispatch.
Do I need to be there when the container arrives?
Yes, you or an authorized representative needs to be present to direct placement, inspect the unit, and sign the delivery receipt. Plan for 30–60 minutes on site.
What if my site can't fit a tilt-bed truck?
Tell us at quote time and we will dispatch a roll-off chassis or arrange a crane delivery instead. Surprising us on the day means a re-delivery fee, so the more site detail up front, the better.
Can the container be placed on grass or dirt?
It can, but we don't recommend it long-term. Soft ground causes settling, which throws off door alignment. Compacted gravel pads, railroad ties, or concrete blocks under each corner are ideal.
Do you handle permits and zoning?
No, local permits, HOA approvals, and zoning compliance are the customer's responsibility. We can advise on common requirements but cannot pull permits on your behalf.
What if the container is damaged during delivery?
Note the damage on the delivery receipt before signing, photograph it, and contact us within 48 hours. See our Return & Inspection Policy for the full claims process.
Can I reschedule if my site isn't ready?
Yes, with at least 48 hours' notice, no charge. Reschedules inside the 48-hour window or no-shows on delivery day will incur a re-delivery fee that covers the wasted truck run.
Do you deliver internationally?
Yes, by ocean freight to most major ports. Lead time is 3–6 weeks plus port handling. Contact us with the destination port and we will quote ocean freight, brokerage, and origin handling line by line.
